SEEKOR ikan besar ditangkap di Filipina dengan badannya penuh tatu.

Nelayan yang menangkapnya sangat kagum dengan apa yang melekat dijaringnya.

Dia telah meletakkan ikan bertatu itu di sebelah ikan lain yang sama jenis bagi melihat perbezaannya.

Sejak gambar-gambar ikan ini disiarkan di saluran tempatan GMA News, ia telah mendapat ribuan komen daripada mereka yang cuba untuk menyelesaikan apa yang dilihat.

Salah satu kemungkinannya adalah badan ikan ini benar-benar telah diukir tatu dan kemudian dilepaskan semula ke dalam laut oleh seseorang.

Terdapat satu lagi jawapan yang lebih mungkin seperti yang dicadangkan oleh Steve Clark.

"Ini mungkin disebabkan oleh jenis-jenis sampah atau kain yang tertanam dalam kulit ikan dan akhirnya ia menjadi corak seperti ini. Sekadar beri pandangan," katanya.

Ikan ini, yang ditangkap oleh nelayan di wilayah Lopez, Jaena, Misamis Oriental, utara Mindanao turut dikaitkan dengan cerita-cerita mistik, seperti penjelmaan semula Tuhan.

Ada juga yang mencadangkan: "Ada banyak perkara di dunia ini yang kita tidak tahu tentangnya, terutamanya di bawah laut. Ingat, lautan adalah lebih besar daripada daratan."

Seseorang lagi telah menyatakan apa yang dibayangkan iaitu ikan ini telah melarikan diri dari sebuah 'penjara' di dasar laut di mana ahli-ahli biologi marin telah membuat satu tanda pada hidupan laut di situ dengan simbol-simbol pelik.

A fisherman's story: No 'tattoo' on fish caught in Misamis Occidental

OPEZ JAENA, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL – Photos of a fish that appears to have a tattoo became viral when a netizen posted them on social media Friday.
Beachgoers who saw the fish were amazed on the intricate designs on the fish's body and took pictures.
The "tattoo" on its body looked like a medieval coat of arms with leaf designs.
However, 41-year-old fisherman Zosimo Tano who caught the fish, clarified on Monday the story behind the so-called “tattooed fish” after fellow fishermen told him it made in the news.
Tano said it was a 24-kilo blue marlin that he caught and it never had a tattoo.
He said the print on the fish's body came from his shirt, which he used to cover the fish.


“It has no tattoo I never thought that the print of what I used to cover would embed on the fish skin,” Tano told ABS-CBN News.
He also showed his shirt which exactly has the same print embedded on the blue marlin’s skin.
Tano sold the blue marlin, his only catch for the day, for P180 per kilo.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) explained that there was a chemical reaction between the fish's slimy skin and the print of the fabric.
