Here's a tip of advice:

1) Deposit just $1 to test for a day, MAKE SURE THEY PAY.
2) Check the MMG and TalkGold forums, see what others have to say.
3) Check monitors, if they have a lot of monitors that say their paying with good ratings, then chances are that it is a good HYIP.
4) Talk with the admin on a normal basis, get to know the guy, I believe that's the best way to see the difference between scammers and honest admins.
5) And the Golden Rule of HYIPs: Never invest more than you can afford to lose.
