The Power of Dumb Ideas

This will be the dumbest riff on marketing you will ever read. If
you’re lucky. Marketing is overwhelmed by complexity, and the tendency
of marketers to "over-create" only complicates their job and their own
lives even more. Ten years ago, there weren't many challenges, in truth,
only about four:

- The advance of a new five-hundred-channel universe,
- Bridging the gap between marketing and sales,
- Calculating the return on advertising investment, and
- Staying current with the changing public taste.

Today, a quick look at Google indicates that we’re dealing with an
eight-billion-channel universe. The distinction between marketing and sales
has evaporated in the face of direct-marketing technologies that brand
products, take orders, and fulfill them at the same time.

Even worse, there is no more public taste. There are only publics’
tastes, which, every day, become more individualized, specific, and hard to
figure out. David Ogilvy’s contention that “it takes a big idea to
attract the attention of consumers and get them to buy your product” no
longer applies. His fellow advertising guru Bill Bernbach’s belief that,
in marketing, “not to be different is virtually suicidal” doesn't
really work either. The solution to marketing’s current problems is not
more creativity. It’s less.

Novelty for the sake of novelty is not only risky, it’s more often than
not a recipe for disaster and irrelevance. A study of 1,300 publicly
traded U.S. companies in fifty-five industries by Chuck Lucier, senior vice
president emeritus at Booz Allen Hamilton, found that only four broad
ideas, copied over and over again in one sector after another, accounted
for 80 percent of the breakout businesses created between 1965 and 1995.
True, the big-box store (Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart) may not be the most
original concept on Earth, but that is exactly the point! Originality
hasn’t mattered a bit to the customers, employees, and shareholders who
have enjoyed its application in consumer electronics (Circuit City, Best
Buy), home improvement (Home Depot, Lowe's), and office supplies (Staples,
Office Depot).

So, ask yourself, what's your dumb idea? Think through the ideals and
philosophies that drive your business, and seek to understand what makes
the most successful companies and entrepreneurs tick. I think you'll be
surprised to find that a lot of the real winners are saying essentially the
same thing. Your job is to say it better.

I got this post from a member in TalkGold!!

I was on the Executive Revenue share call last night, it was about an hour long. This is a call that they are going to have monthly for anyone who is in the Execute Revenue (you need a minimum of 10 personally sponsored people to be in this part) sharing part of Giblink. There is really a lot that is happening. For those that thought this was some kind of scam, it's not. This is getting ready to explode in the next few weeks.

In the next 7-10 days the new Giblink website will be up with many more graphics and audios and videos that will explain just how all this works and what the income potential is.

In the next 3-4 weeks the free member part of the website will be launched. I know a lot of people are wondering how this will help them, rather than try to explain this in an email, just wait until this launches and see.

They are adding a lot of things like auto-responders, 800 messages, splash pages and other ways to help you promote your business. You will be able to use these tools to recruit other members and thus increasing your income.

There is also a lot of stuff in the works that they could not talk about yet that will add to the amount of money that can be made.

Giblinks goal is to have over 100 thousand members by years end, this of course will push everyone through the lines at a big rate (100 thousand members if most are pro members is about 300 thousand pods) and of course as the recycle periods come up, this means more and more line movement. I know some of you still don't like the idea of the 90 day recycle, but this really is good for all of us, sure we all have to pay again, but if it gives us all a big push, then you can actually pay for your recycle with the profits from your cycle.

The bottom line is this, if everyone stays with this, you will make enough in the near future to pay for your recycle, then as time goes on, not only will it pay for that, but start making you a nice residual income.

There are a lot of new things that will be happening in Giblinks future, hope you are all there with me.
