Hi Shukri, Soon Beng & Co.

Per our daily correspondence with you both, in particular our live chat with Soon Beng yesterday, we have again followed up with Global Collect. The email from them verbatim is pasted below. Please note, that per our conversation with Soon Beng yesterday, we have gone ahead and credited USD50 to all of the clients accounts effected by this delay in exchange for their patience.

As explained in the email you'll see below, the withdrawal method via local transfer to Malaysia specifically is very disjointed, antiquated, and leaves a lot of room for error. Had Global Collect told us ahead of time that the withdrawal process to Malaysia was so bad, obviously we would not have continued with processing withdrawals through them.

So we're in a tough situation where if the funds don't arrive by Friday, do we wire over the funds to the customers via Barclays which we know will work? Then the issue will be when they receive their local transfer withdrawal, they'll have "double" withdrawal. If the withdrawals were returned to us it would be a better situation, as opposed to them still being outstanding.

Regarding the FPA threat, any negative posts on FXPRIMUS is to be avoided. We feel we've been keeping the clients informed, keeping you all informed, and have credited USD50 in all of the accounts affected. This is an isolated incident, but it's receiving our utmost attention. Let's see if they receive on Thursday before possibly taking the step of sending via Barclays.

Here is the email from Global Collect reference above:

Dear Terry,

The latest update on these orders is that because they are all MYR Bank accounts. Due to Malaysian Banking legislation we are required to send in manual documentation for refunds via courier. This is the reason why it takes so long to process these transactions. They are all being processed so they should expect them in the next week. They do need to wait patiently and you should inform them of this process.

As long as all bank account details are correct – they should receive them soon.

Terry Thompson
