I am Irfan Zuyrel, a 47-year-old market strategist originally from Selangor. You might not know me personally, but if you invested in Public Mutual funds between 2011 and 2016, specifically the multi-asset growth portfolios, I might have managed your capital.
My journey began at NUS (Finance) and later took me to the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for my Masters in Financial Engineering. I spent my early career at Goldman Sachs as an analyst covering Asian Financials, where my team successfully identified the valuation gap in Malaysian and Singaporean banks back in 2006.
Later, I served as a Deputy Director at Public Mutual, managing AUM up to RM 780 million and navigating the 2015 Ringgit depreciation. Most recently, I acted as a Model Advisor for Khazanah Nasional.
They call me a "Still Water" strategist because I believe in calmness backed by data. Now, I have founded RimbaMindaAI to bring institutional-grade AI risk models to retail investors. I look forward to sharing my insights on the KLCI, US Tech, and Crypto assets here.
