Elon Musk Posts About Bitcoin For First Time In Months
Tesla (NASDAQ: $TSLA) CEO Elon Musk is generating buzz in crypto circles after he posted about Bitcoin (CRYPO: $BTC) on social media for the first time in months.
On social media platform X, Musk shared an image of a dancer with the Bitcoin logo in the background. No comments accompanied the post.
However, the post is the first about Bitcoin from Musk in about six months and could indicate that he remains interested in the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
During previous rallies, Musk frequently mentioned BTC, especially after his company Tesla began accepting Bitcoin payments.
However, Musk’s social media posts have slowed in recent months, and he has mentioned cryptocurrencies less frequently.
In 2021, Musk waged a campaign on social media to try and boost the price of Dogecoin (CRYPTO: $DOGE) to $1 U.S., an attempt that ultimately failed.
Tesla, the electric vehicle company run by Musk, currently owns 11,509 Bitcoin valued at $762 million U.S. based on BTC’s current price.
Michael Saylor, chairman of Strategy (NASDAQ: $MSTR), one of the biggest BTC owners, retweeted Musk’s latest post and shared a message saying, “Elon is groking Bitcoin.”
BTC is currently trading at $66,250 U.S.
