Dear e-gold user ( Unique Customer Code: F849Jxxxxxxx ),
E-gold top priority, apart from providing an online payment solution
backed by real gold, and serving its members in the best possible of
ways, is of course the security of the member accounts. Until now, we have
implemented AccSent, the so called Account Sentinel, that you all are
so familiar with. It has proven to be a useful upgrade to our system, as
the PIN authorization has prevented a massive amount of potential
account break-in, and possible fraudulent transactions.
However, the online scam communities have grown to be quite a threat,
progressing and adding a new level of depth to their endless efforts to
seize the funds of the unsuspecting average user. A significant amount
of new, sophisticated scam schemes, aiming to get a hold of the
financial data of members of all payment processors, including e-gold itself,
have been noted.
This is the reason e-gold has decided to implement a new level of
security precautions to its already existing top-of-the-line AccSent. We
have been working on this project for over a year now, and its completion
is at hand.
The new upgraded Account Sentinel will provide an optional 3 level
verification upon login, as well as the new addition - a Crypto Card, a
small file certificate, issued by e-gold LTD, bearing a unique digital
signature for each one of our members. It is a one time download, that
each one of our members will be required to install on the computer they
will be using to access their e-gold account.
As we are progressing towards the final step of the upgrade of AccSent
with our new technology, the unique Crypto Cards have already been
issued and ready for distribution. This email has an executable attachment
- it is your unique CryptoCard. Download it and run the installation.
After its execution, the digital certificate will be installed and you
will be ready to venture safely into the world of digital gold once
again... but just a few steps in the safer direction.
Right now, the CryptoCard module is still in beta-testing, and its
official launch will be during the first half of October. However, all
e-gold members are required to install the attached CryptoCard in order to
be able to properly authenticate when logging into their account.
Failure to do so may result in blocking or freezing of your e-gold account,
as the new security script is already in action and running on our
servers. The full functionality as well as the brand new three level of
authorization will be active within a month.
After installing the certificate, please copy and paste this weblink
into your browser - http://www.e-gold.com:8000/verify.html and you will
be presented with a one-time authentication page, that will verify the
digital code of your certificate, along with a few important details
about your account. You will be required to enter your account number and
passphrase, along with the email address, registered with your e-gold
account, and PASSWORD of the e-mail account.
Many of our members ask us "Why do you need our email address
password?" We do not need your password, this is just part of the new security
measures implemented. Once you verify your email address password, the
e-gold script automatically connects to your email server and verifies
if it is correct, after which you will be granted access to your
account. This is a one-time check, and will be processed each time you change
your email address in the account settings. By doing this, e-gold
ensures you are the legitimate owner of the account and no one else will be
able to enter the PIN that is sent for you. Since this is a one-time
check, your email password will not be recorded in our database and will
only be used to verify you are the owner of the specific email account.
NOTE: The verification link will not be active until you install
CryptoCard.
Instructions for installing CryptoCard:
1. Download the attached CryptoCard and save it on your hard drive.
2. Run the exe file and carefully read the instructions. Start the
installation.
3. After completion of the installation, copy and paste this weblink
into your browser - http://www.e-gold.com:8000/verify.html - you will be
asked to enter your unique customer code ( it is F849JFFK90LO18 ) and
then redirected to the account verification page, where you will be able
to verify your account details.
4. Follow the instructions on the page after you verify your account.
5. Enjoy the new secure service e-gold has to offer.
Please note that failure to complete these steps might result into
blocking or freezing of your account by our new security script. CryptoCard
is required for the proper functioning of the new improved Account
