Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Danantara Investment Management Agency Rosan Roeslani delivers a statement in New York, United States, Tuesday (Sept 23, 2025). ANTARA/Fathur Rochman.
New York, Amerika Serikat (ANTARA) - The Danantara Trust Fund has officially partnered with the Gates Foundation to advance philanthropic initiatives in three priority sectors: education, water sanitation, and health.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, Rosan Roeslani, said the collaboration is framed through a series of joint sessions under the program called Philanthropy Lab.
The sessions will run until January 2026 before moving to the stage of signing concrete agreements.
As an initial commitment, Danantara has allocated 100 million US dollars in 2025. From the total dividends received each year, about one to two percent will be placed into the trust fund to support programs in the three priority areas.
Rosan projected that within five to six years, the Danantara Trust Fund could accumulate up to 1 billion US dollars.
The cooperation with the Gates Foundation was first revealed in May 2025 when Microsoft founder and global philanthropist Bill Gates visited Indonesia.
At that time, Rosan announced plans to establish the Danantara Trust and invited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to collaborate.
In addition to the Gates Foundation, Danantara is also open to working with other philanthropic institutions.
Rosan said Indonesia is expected to become a global philanthropy hub, given its vast potential to generate wide-reaching social impact.
