:Role Purpose Statement:
To conduct and manage Product development programs to produce products and techniques that meet the agreed market requirements. Provide application and technical support to business unit (BU) to achieve overall regional business needs.
:Main Accountabilities:
• Conduct and manage product development and technical application for products and techniques to meet the agreed market requirements within the established parameters, time frame and cost limits.
• Work closely with superior to maintain product assortment and stock keeping unit (SKU).
• Work closely with SCM team on technical issues related to formulation, to ensure production process achieves optimum cost and technical effectiveness. Work closely with Industrialisation Chemist/Exec to monitor and improve manufacturing or products.
• Provide technical guidance to quality control (QC), assist in investigation of non-conformance.
• Prepare and maintain QC specifications/wet standards.
• Approve shop orders, and provide recommendations for using up of obsolete, redundant and rejected materials where possible.
• Work closely with the Purchasing department in material evaluation and supplier assessment to seek for alternatives for continuous supply and raw material cost reduction.
• Co-ordinate with other siegwerk to maintain excellent rapport with customers and proactively provide technical support to commercial managers to achieve business requirements.
• Perform product bench marking and participate in commercial trial and customer visits as required. Implement technical adaption, services and solutions to respond to customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain systematic documentation for technical data sheet (TDS) of products where required.
• Ensure professional standard in laboratory practices, good housekeeping (5S) and site emergency, health and safety requirements are followed.
• Ensuring testing equipments are in good operating conditions.
• Conduct trainings internal or external customers where required.
• Assist in assessing technicians and resources requirements, provide recommendations. Develop/train technicians to ensure operations efficiently.
• Assist in BOM maintenance, responsible for formulation security. Maintain accurate records and reports of research activities/results and provide routine reporting.
:Key Performance Indicators:
• Rationalised product range and raw material.
• Annual cost down and identification of alternative raw material sources.
• Inventory control via reducing work-off/slow moving materials.
• SCM excellence via improving manufacturing efficiency (e.g. FTR)
• Introduce relevant products to contribute to sales growth of BU products in the region.
:Special Requirement:
• Only for Male Chinese
• Experienced 2 – 3 in ink industry
:Qualification:
• University Degree in Science subjects preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Printing related Technology.
• Good analytical skill. Good written and communication in English.
• Experience in coatings and inks are an added advantage.
