LWMA Crossover Signal – VertexFX Indicator

The LWMA Crossover Signal indicator is based on a fast moving and slow moving Linear Weighted Moving Average indicator.
The concept behind this indicator is that the faster LWMA responds to a trend quicker than the slower LWMA. At the same time, the slower LWMA confirms that the trend is sustainable.
As the name suggests, the signals are generated when the crossover of the two LWMAs occur. When the faster LWMA crosses above the slower LWMA a BUY signal is generated. Likewise, when the fast LWMA crosses below the slower LWMA a SELL signal is generated.

BUY - Enter BUY when a BUY ARROW signal is received at close of candle.
SELL - Enter SELL when a SELL ARROW signal is received at close of candle.

RBCI (Range Bound Channel Index) – VertexFX Indicator

The RBCI (Range Bound Channel Index) is a filter based upon the Fast Adaptive Trendline (FATL) and Slow Adaptive Trendline (SATL) indicators, and useful for determining market turning points.

RBCI requires atleast 55 bars since it is based upon FATL and SATL which require 55 bars. It is calculated by subtracting SATL from FATL. Prices approach the extreme range when RBCI its local maximum (or minimum) price. This implies that RBCI is an excellent indicator that can be used to determine the extreme ranges, and the levels from which the markets can turn.

BUY - Enter BUY when RBCI is at lower extreme below zero, and has turned upwards.
SELL - Enter SELL when RBCI is at upper extreme above zero, and has turned downwards.

MTEI SuperTrend – VertexFX Indicator

The MTEI SuperTrend indicator is a powerful trend based indicator that provides excellent trend following direction. It is based on the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) and Average True Range (ATR).
We first calculate the CCI over the recent 50 candles. If the CCI crosses above 0, then the it is considered an uptrend, whereas when it crosses below 0 it is consider as downtrend.
The SuperTrend line is calculated by subtracting the 5 candle ATR from the current Low for an uptrend, and by adding a 5 candle ATR from the current High for a downtrend.

BUY - Enter BUY trade when indicator turns GREEN. Avoid entering trade if candle gaps above the GREEN indicator value.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when indicator turns RED. Avoid entering trade if candle gaps below the RED indicator value.

SATL - VertexFX Indicator

The SATL (Slow Adaptive Trend Line) indicator is used to determine trending markets and specifically for trend following systems. It employs digital filter, namely the low frequency FLF-2 filter.
Compared to moving averages, SATL reduces lag and hence catches trends early on. The SATL indicator requires atleast 64 bars, and is calculated using the FLF-2 co-efficients over a 64 bar period.
BUY - Enter BUY trade when candle closes above SATL. Place stop loss at nearest support below SATL. Do not enter BUY trade if candle gaps up above SATL.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when candle closes below SATL. Place stop loss at nearest resistance below SATL. Do not enter SELL trade if candle gaps down below SATL.

Schaff Trend Cycle – VertexFX Indicator

As the name suggests, the Schaff Trend Cycle is used to determine the two important characteristics of a trend - namely its strength, and its cycle. To calculate the indicator value, we first calculate the short term EMA and the longer term EMA. The different between the shorter EMA and longer EMA is also calculated. Then over a period of CYCLE bars, we calculate the highest and the lowest values of this difference between the shorter and longer MAs.
Finally, the Schaff Trend Cycle is calculated by first subtracting the current difference in the EMAs, and then dividing it by the different between the highest and lowest values of the difference in the EMAs over the CYCLE period. This value is then bounded between 0 and 100.
The idea behind this indicator is that the faster EMA responds quicker than the slower EMAs to the price movements.

BUY - Enter BUY when the indicator rises gradually from 0.
SELL - Enter SELL when the indicator falls gradually from 100.

SilverTrend – VertexFX Indicator

The SilverTrend Signal indicator is a powerful indicator that gives precise BUY and SELL signals based on breakouts and market turn arounds. It is based on the SilverTrend indicator.
We first calculate the Highest High and Lowest Low of recent SSP candles. We then subtract the different between the Highest High and Lowest Low, multiplying it with the K factor (which is equal to RISK subtracted from 33) and divide this value by 100. The buy entry threshold is equal to Highest High minus this derived value. Similarly the sell entry threshold is equal to the Lowest Low plus this derived value. When the price closes above the buy entry threshold, a buy signal is generated. Likewise, when the price closes below the sell entry threshold, a sell signal is generated.

BUY - Enter BUY trade when a BUY ARROW signal is encountered at close of candle.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when a SELL ARROW signal is encounted at close of candle.

Support and Resistance (Barry) – VertexFX Indicator

The Support and Resistance (Barry) indicator is based on the Fractal candles. A Fractal High candle is a candle whose High has two lower Highs preceeding it, and two lower Highs following it. Similarly a Fractal Low candle is a candle whose Low has two higher Lows preceeding it, and two higher Lows following it.
The Support level is a Fractal Low, whereas a Resistance level is Fractal High. The current Support level remains in place until a new Fractal Low is encountered. Likewise, the current Resistance level remains in place until a new Fractal High is encountered.
The Support levels are displayed in BLUE dots, whereas Resistance levels are displayed in RED dots.
For Placing Stop-Losses :
BUY POSITION - For BUY positions, place stop loss just below the Support level.
SELL POSITION - For SELL positions, place stop loss just above the Resistance level.
For Trading :
BUY - Enter BUY trade when price crosses above Resistance.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when price crosses below Support

Swing Point – VertexFX Indicator

The Swing Point indicator is an useful indicator for trading price breakouts. Alternately, it is also used by traders to determining market turning points, and for placing stop-losses.
A swing point is a candle high or a candle low which is surrounded by lower High on either side, or a lower Low on either side. When the recent swing low crosses above the recent swing high by a distance of REVERSE_POINT points, or a recent swing high crosses below the recent swing low by a distance of REVERSE_POINT points, the indicator defines it as a decision point and marks it on the chart.
Traders prefer to place stop-losses below Swing Points for buy positions, and above Swing Points for sell positions.
BUY - Enter BUY trade when price closes above the most recent Swing Point. Place stop-loss below the nearest Swing Point which is below the current price.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when price closes below the most recent Swing Point. Place stop-loss above the nearest Swing Point which is above the current price.

WilliamHistogramWallerTest – VertexFX Indicator

The WilliamHistogramWallerTest is a variant of the Larry Williams %R method and is used to find trending markets.
To calculate the indicator value, we find the Highest High and the Lowest Low of the recent 40 bars. We calculate the ratio by dividing the difference between the Highest High and the current close, by the difference between the Highest High and the Lowest Low. This value is multiplied yb 100, and scaled in the range of -50 to +50.
When the markets are rising, the difference between the Highest High and the Close increases as the market makes new Highs, whereas the difference between the Highest High and Lowest Low remains more or less constant as the we trend upwards. Hence the indicator value rises and responds quickly to rising and falling markets.
It requires atleast 40 bars of data for calculations.

BUY - Enter BUY trade when indicator value has reached negative extreme below zero and is rising for atleast two bars.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when indicator value has reached positive extreme above zero and is falling for atleast two bars.

ZeroLag MACD – VertexFX Indicator

The ZeroLag MACD indicator is based upon the MACD indicator. It attempts to eliminate the lag that is inherent in MACD indicator by using two levels of filtering. It comprises of two components, the MACD component (MAGENTA histogram), and the Signal component (ORANGE line).
To calculate the MACD component, we first calculate the fast and slow EMA based on FAST_EMA and SLOW_EMA periods. We once again calculate the fast EMA of the calculated fast EMA using the FAST_EMA period, and the slow EMA of the calculated slow EMA using the SLOW_EMA period. The fast EMA lag is calculated as twice the first fast EMA minus the second fast EMA. Similarly, the slow EMA lag is calculated as twice the first slow EMA minus the second slow EMA. The MACD is the difference between the fast EMA lag and the slow EMA lag.
To calculate the Signal, we calculate the EMA of the MACD using the SIGNAL_PERIOD. We once again calculate the EMA of this signal using the SIGNAL_PERIOD. The Signal component is equal to twice the first signal minus the second signal.
Thus we use two steps to filter and eliminate lags on both the main MACD signal and on the Signal component.

BUY - Enter BUY trade when the MACD component closes above the Signal component.
SELL - Enter SELL trade when the MACD component closes below the Signal component.
