You can add a startup screen to Firefox by using the Firefox splash screens provided here plus the Splash screen add-on created by Mel Reyes (aka: mrtech) and Sly Fox. The Splash screen add-on has many different options for customizing the way that your splash screen is presented to you as you can see by the screen shots below
Installation Instructions
1. You must download the Splash addon from http://www.deviantart.com/users/outgoing?https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2995 in order to use this image.
2. Once installed, go to Tools > Addons and find Splash, and click on the Options button.
3. Go over to the "Text" tab and check both of the boxes at the top...we don't want text getting in the way!
4. Navigate back to the "General" tab and click on "More Colors". Scroll to the top and choose transparent.
5. Go to the "Image" tab and click browse, and find the location of the image, then click on it.
