Bogor, W. Java (ANTARA) - Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) confiscated over Rp165 billion (around US$9.1 million, US$1 = Rp17,965) in assets tied to drug-related money laundering operations during operations conducted between October 2024 and July 2026.

Head of BNN, Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto, said that the asset seizures were carried out alongside law enforcement operations that successfully intercepted a total of 12.3 tons of illicit narcotics nationwide.

"We are not satisfied with merely arresting them; we are also committed to impoverishing the drug dealers," Suyudi said during the 2026 International Anti-Narcotics Day commemoration in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday.

To dismantle drug syndicates, BNN has intensified its "follow-the-money" strategy alongside cross-border network tracking, joint task force operations, and supply chain interdiction.

Suyudi emphasized that BNN is continuously refining its strategy for the Prevention and Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) by balancing firm law enforcement against traffickers with humane rehabilitation for drug users and victims.

"This is the spirit behind our War on Drugs for Humanity campaign: a war against drug crime while upholding human rights, and a humane approach to drug abuse victims to safeguard humanity," he said.

The BNN chief stressed that combating narcotics is critical to preparing the workforce for Indonesia's upcoming demographic bonus peak and achieving the grand national objective of Golden Indonesia 2045.

BNN reiterated its commitment to protecting youth from early exposure to illegal substances while maintaining strict enforcement to safeguard long-term public health and national resilience.
