Christians generally regard The Bible as the Word of God. However, that is not in the same way as the Muslims do.
In John 1:1 we read 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God....verse 14. and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us
Generally speaking, Jesus was regarded as the eternal Word of God in human form.
In Islamic belief, the Quran is regarded as a book already in heaven which was revealed to Mohammad by the angel Gabriel. Muslims also believe the Torah, given to Moses (Musa), the Injil, given to Jesus (Isa), and the Mazmur, given to David (Daud), were each books existing in heaven.
However Christians do not think of them in that way.
The Bible is divided into 2 parts, including the Old Testament, the scriptures of the Hebrews and Jews, and the New Testament, including the life of Jesus and the early Christians.
The Old Testament incudes history, such as the Torah (books of Moses), poetic (including the Mazmur), wisdom books and also prophetic books. The history is of the Hebrew nation, which includes the Jews. It is believed that God inspired men to write down his thoughts. So it is the Word of God in written form, but written down by men. So the original writings are regarded as the Word of God.
The New Testament includes firstly for Gospels, each telling the life of Christ from a slightly different perspective, by 4 different writers. After that is an account of the beginnings of the early church, and also letters from some of the early Christian leaders to different churches in the region. These are all regarded as the inspired Word of God, but written in the language and viewpoint of men.
Altogether there are a total of 66 individual books comprise the Bible as a whole.
The Bible was written by 4 different writers(Matthew,Mark,Luke,John) inspired by the same Holy Spirit and yet they all still contradict with each other..very funny..
