:Role Description:
The BI Solution Consultant reports to BI Solution Manager and responsible to deliver large single or smaller multiple projects in the use of Business Intelligence (BI) technology.
:Responsibilities:
Core Roles and Responsibilities
• Work independently or on a team to design, build, stabilize and deploy Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss on-going project status and deliverables.
• Participate in customer team meetings to gather business and technical requirements for projects.
• To document system requirements, design, test and deployment guide in a clear and structured manner in accordance with the methodology of choice for the project.
• Provide accurate estimates of effort associated with implementation of technical solutions.
• Provide pre-sales support i.e. setting up demonstration data, prototype and presentations.
• Advise on technical Business Intelligence matters.
• Apply and share knowledge; contribute ideas and opinions.
Financial Accountabilities
• Ensure project deliverables pertaining to technical requirements are completed within planned project schedule.
Management Reporting
• Maintain effective communications with project manager and solution manager on all aspects of personal scheduling and project scheduling.
• Highlight possible project issues or any project potential risks to project manager.
Monthly Submission and Reporting
• Submit timesheets twice a month by the dates stipulated by the company.
• Submit the expense claims to the department claims verifier by the date stipulated for expenses incurred for the previous month supported by the original receipts.
:Key Competencies:
• Demonstrate strong analytical, consulting and problem solving skills.
• Proficient knowledge of SAP Business Objects and/or Microsoft BI or other Business Intelligence (BI) technology like Cognos, SAS, QlikView, etc.
• Good understanding of dimensional modeling and design (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to present to small/medium groups.
• Good customer relationship skills.
• Proficient knowledge of information technology and technology updates.
• Able to understand design processes and apply industry practices and business requirements to project implementation i.e. process mapping, documentation, etc.
:Qualification:
• >5 years working experience in Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehouse project implementation and 3 - 5 years in IT working environment.
• SAP Business Objects and/or Microsoft BI subject matter expertise a plus. Other Business Intelligence technology (like Cognos, SAS, QlikView, etc.) subject matter expertise may be considered.
• MCP certificate is a plus.
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
