AML checks: how to avoid receiving high-risk funds when exchanging crypto

One of the main risks when exchanging cryptocurrency is receiving funds linked to high-risk sources, such as scams, hacks, darknet marketplaces, or sanctioned entities. However, before making an exchange, it’s important to run an AML check not only of the address you’ll receive funds from, but also your own address.
Even if you believe your wallet has no connections to high-risk sources, you can’t know the complete history of every transaction that has ever reached it. If an exchange service detects risk indicators after you send your funds, the transaction may be frozen and subject to additional checks, which can take weeks.
Running an AML check before the exchange can help reduce this risk. The BestChange AML Analyzer offers several options, one of which is free, while the remaining five range from $0.5 to $2. You can choose one option or run several checks for a more comprehensive analysis across different databases.

● How to run an AML check of a crypto address

Open the AML Analyzer on the BestChange website and fill out the form:
-Enter the cryptocurrency wallet address in the first field.
-Select the cryptocurrency. The system can often detect it automatically based on the address format. If it doesn’t, select it manually from the list.
-Choose one or more of the available analyzers.
-Enter a valid email address. The report will be sent there, so make sure to keep the email.
-Accept the Terms of Use and click Check Address.
-On the payment page, select your preferred method and pay for the check to receive the report.
If you’re checking the other party’s address and the report shows risk indicators, you can decline the transaction or ask for a different address. If risk exposure is identified on your own address, the report will provide recommendations on what to do next. You can also contact BestChange Support for additional details.

● AML check vouchers for frequent checks
If you run regular AML checks, you can also purchase a voucher on the payment page. You buy it once, choose the amount yourself, and use the balance gradually over time.
For your next check, select the voucher as the payment method—it’s the option on the far right. Enter the voucher code in the designated field and click Redeem Voucher. The balance will be deducted each time you run a check until the voucher amount has been fully used.
