The forerunner of the rally! How Bitcoin network congestion affects the cryptocurrency rate.
⠀

After the overflow of the mempool in the spring of 2019, the main digital coin went up by
250%. In the same situation, the asset began to rise in price in 2017.

On March 26, 2019, the number of unconfirmed transactions on the Bitcoin network soared by
24,500% over 10 days, reaching 43 million bytes, according to the Blockchain portal. At the same time, the cost of the first cryptocurrency began to increase, and within 3 months it went up from $ 4,000 to $ 14,000.
⠀

A similar overload occurred in early November 2017. After that, the exchange rate of the main digital asset grew from $ 6,000 to $ 20,000 over the course of a month. We noted all instances of the overflow of the mempool in the Bitcoin network since 2017 on the chart to check whether there is any correlation between these events.

The green line shows Bitcoin value changes since 2017. Black dots indicate the dates when the network overload of the first cryptocurrency occurred. The graph suggests that in 12 of 15 cases after the overflow of the mempool the price of the main digital coin began to
rise.
⠀

Network congestion occurs when a lot of unconfirmed transactions are formed on the cryptocurrency blockchain. To make the transfer faster, people increase the amount of the commission that they will pay to the miners. This leads to an increase in demand for Bitcoin, which can cause a sharp
increase in its value.
⠀

The last time the congestion in the Bitcoin network occurred on November 15 of this year. The number of unconfirmed transactions grew by
8700% within a few hours. However, then the rally did not follow. The overflow of the mempool could be caused by an attack on the network of the first cryptocurrency by Bitcoin SV supporters or a failure in the system of the Blockchain information portal. Bitcoin's growth is still to come.
