In the story from the Bible, it is claimed that God told Noah to build a ship three stories tall and over one hundred yards long that could house all of the animals in the world to survive the flood that was coming. It is said that Noah succeeded, and was able to ride out the flood that ended up destroying the rest of the world. Genesis does identify Ararat as the landing area for the Ark after the flood, but never mentions a specific peak.

Over the years there have been several reports from the region regarding Noah’s Ark. In 2007, one group exploring the region found a wooden structure inside the interior of a cave and claimed that they had discovered the remains of Noah’s Ark. The same group that was responsible for that finding, is also the group that is behind the most current finding, Noah’s Ark Ministries International.

"It’s not 100 percent that it is Noah’s Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that it is,"

claimed Yueng Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong filmmaker who was part of the team that discovered the large wooden specimen.
