Unit Head, Post Approval Credit Review – CorporateBanking, Group Internal Audit Kuala Lumpur -Jalan Tun Razak


Responsibilities:
Plan, execute and manage post approval credit reviews of Corporate Banking portfolio to determine soundness of the credit evaluation and approvals, covering the following areas:
(i) Assess overall asset quality, credit risk and adherence to prudent credit principles, including those stipulated in the Bank’s internal policies and procedures and statutory and regulatory guidelines.
(ii) Review files for quantitative evidence and interview credit personnel for qualitative information.
(iii) Ensure that due diligence on the borrower has been carried out to support the recommendation/evaluation of credits, in line with generally accepted prudent credit practices.
Mentor and guide team members, including review of their working papers to ensure all relevant risk areas are covered in the credit review assignments and issues raised are appropriate, logical and valid.
Highlight credit quality issues, internal control weaknesses, deficiencies and non-compliances and provide recommendations for improvement/corrective action.
Interface with business units on the issues / concerns raised and prepare reports within stipulated timeline.
Lead and /or participate in ad-hoc projects at the direction of the superior.

Requirements:
Minimum 5 years working experience in corporate / commercial credit evaluation and/or credit processing preferably in a mentoring position.
Tertiary education in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy or a professional qualification in Accountancy (e.g. ACCA/CIMA/CPA) or equivalent is necessary. IBBM’s CCP or Omega Performance Credit Skills Assessment (CSA) accreditation will be an added advantage.
Thorough knowledge of lending practices, compliance and documentation procedures, local central bank guidelines and relevant statutory regulations.
Conversant with current economic and business environment and able to identify and assess emerging risks.
Good numerical, analytical, advisory, interview techniques, report writing, presentation skills and effective project and time management abilities.
Possess creative thinking skill and able to evaluate, form logical conclusions and reason with facts.
Able to interact effectively with management and convince them on the recommendations by supporting conclusions through fact based analysis.
Able to work independently as well as a team, under pressure to meet timeline.
