Trump Confirms China Deal, but Markets Stay Jittery
Cryptocurrency markets were slightly optimistic Thursday as China announced it was confirming a trade deal with the United States, which lessened tensions between the two largest economies in the world.
The global cryptocurrency market cap is at $3.49 trillion, down 4.1% in the past 24 hours. Bitcoin is down over 2% to $106,947.59, and Ethereum is down 1.4% to $2,732, as per Kraken.
The agreement was reached following a phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping last week, during which both leaders declared a temporary truce in the trade war.
