Red and White Village Cooperatives record $3.6 million in transactions

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transaction value of the Indonesia's Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP) reached Rp56.8 billion (approximately US$3.6 million) in 2026, with fertiliser accounting for the largest share of sales.

According to data from the KDMP Management Information System (Simkopdes), accessed on Friday, showed the cooperatives recorded 54,316 transactions worth a combined Rp56.8 billion.

NPK Phonska fertiliser generated the highest transaction value at Rp15.09 billion from a transaction volume of 8.17 million units, followed by 46 percent nitrogen urea fertiliser with sales of Rp11.27 billion from 6.20 million units.

In addition, the cooperatives' transactions were dominated by essential goods and subsidised products, including 2-liter cooking oil worth Rp3.63 billion; 5-kilogram packs of rice under the Stabilisation of Food Supply and Prices (SPHP) programme worth Rp2.49 billion.

Then, rice valued at Rp1.14 billion, 3-kg subsidised LPG cylinders worth Rp486 million, and 1-kg packs of sugar worth Rp284.78 million.

Indonesia's Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said the government will strengthen the cooperatives' role as a distribution hub for various subsidised goods.

According to the minister, a limited cabinet meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto decided that subsidised LPG, fertiliser, cooking oil and rice would be distributed through the cooperatives.

"A Presidential Regulation governing the distribution of subsidised goods will be issued in the near future," Juliantono said.

As of Friday, 83,380 Red and White Village Cooperatives had been established, with 60,783 already holding a Business Identification Number (NIB), according to Simkopdes.

Meanwhile, the development of the coops' physical outlets continues to progress. Of the 38,050 proposed sites, 35,856 have been verified.

Among the verified locations, 470 sites have been verified but construction has not yet begun; 18,855 sites are currently under construction; and 16,531 outlets have reached 100 percent completion.
