Hi,

I have not used an EA before but after coming to this forum I have to as there is so many to download! THANK YOU!

My question is once I start running the EAs how long until they start buying/selling the currency pair?

I was using VT Trader but could not import the ex4 advisors, so downloaded Meta Trader 4.

When I start using an EA what settings do I need to change? Do they come fully configured or do I need to change the stop loss and limit?

Must I leave my computer on when running meta trader on auto pilot?

HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS!

Thanks alot, AMAZING forum!

It all depends on which EA you r using. Different EA has different trading times. Some work all day some only at certain times. The EA defaults are usually already configured for optimal performance but can be changed to suit your own trading preferences bearing into consideration you money management and risk involved.

To use EA in MT4, you have to go to tools - options - EA, then set all d main checkbox to yes. remove confirm DLL.

YES ... u have to leave your computer running for EA to function under MT4 platform. Any open trades left unclosed when you shut down your computer can either work for you or AGAINST you when you next login to MT4. You have been warned.

Wellcome to the jungle. You know why there are so many commercial EA in the market, that is a very simple answer, most of them are losers. The owner does not appreciate them , then released to the public. There are some EA could have the history making money, but when time go it start to lose moneny, and at that timing, we could get the free EA.

When you have too much EAS, the tougest thing is knowing which one is winner; you know we have only limited time to work and test.

Most EA lose money mainly due to incompetence of the end users who used that EA. A good EA must be fine tune to adapt to the current market situation and this optimization process must always carry out from time to time. 90% of those EA users believed that EA is like holy grail that can print them money days and nights without taking care of them. That's why most EA lose money in the long run.

The setting and optimization of each EA depend on the inputs used to run the expert ,in general you will find athe settings of the EA attached with it but you have to back test it to ensure its performance .
