An Auckland barista has quit his job to pursue a full-time career as a Pokemon Master. Tom Currie, 24, handed in his notice at the cafe where he worked this month to embark on a two-month tour of New Zealand.
He will travel across the land, searching far and wide until he has captured all of the 151 Pokemon on the smartphone game, Pokemon Go. So far, his count is 98.
It's a mission that has attracted international media attention, and now gaming companies in the US are even offering Currie a new job as a professional Pokemon Go instructor.
