It's was an Opera Sound of German and french music done in Paris many years ago.

it was adopted in 1992 as the new European Champion league sound without lyric and in 1998... same German and french Opera group composed the lyrics after reaching agreement with Uefa.

still remember that very day it was first sang with lyrics at opening of 1998/99 UCl match between Man Utd Vs Barca.

the reasons why the group didn't add Italian and Spanish sound or lyrics was because they're said it will spoiled the string of the sound because Spanish and Italian has faulty vowels sound that doesn't go well with German and French music. but able to change words like the master in English and champion in Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and ended it with English again with a word like "the most exciting, the champion"!
