PETALING JAYA: Residential homes which produce solar energy under the Renewable Energy (RE) Act 2010 will be paid more than industrial producers but the cost of setting up solar panels in homes will be higher due to the lack of economies of scale.
Under the RE Act 2010, a small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) producer, meaning a household, could potentially earn up to RM1.75 per kWh of electricity produced by selling the power to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

Consumers producing 4KW of electricity at home will be earning more than RM400 a month. It will be a secondary income generator,

sapa yang dah mula mengorak langkah jadi pengeluar letrik ni?

Amy Ford, a state employee, said the loan program made installation of solar power possible for her century-old home, because she otherwise didn't have the up-front money. Ken Abbott, a retired postal employee, didn't use the loan program but took advantage of the lower installation prices that resulted from the large number of buyers.

For him, the proof is in his power bills – three months last year at $9.40 each, just the basic service charge.

"That looks nice, when you get a bill like that," he said.

Abbott estimates the $14,500 system will end up costing him about $3,000 total after tax credits and savings on his power bills.

The city is making 75 more loans available to residents in 2011 and recently set aside $1 million for businesses interested in pursuing solar energy. In the first two weeks after that announcement, 45 businesses signed up for assessments to determine their energy needs and how much a system would cost.

Pinjaman tanpa bunga untuk pembeli sistem solar panel.....bila Malaysia nak buat?

PETALING JAYA: Within the first 24 hours of opening, applications for the special tariff allocation for almost all the capacity of solar photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy projects had been applied for.
According to Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (Seda), applications for 140.6MW in cumulative installed capacity for solar energy had been received.
